I believe the original poster was referring to those beginners that get  
seduced by the "dark side" - i.e. focusing more on equipment as the answer to  
better tone. In reality, it is a mix of both. However, too many without the  
knowledge and experience of this finer point do tend to go overboard w/equipment  
and expect the $ paid to somehow buy the sound they seek.
