[Harp-L] Early 40's Harmonica Question

I just saw the first scene of the movie Holiday Inn, with Fred Astaire and 
Bing Crosby.

Astaire gets out of a cab and three boys are busking out on the 
sidewalk.  One of them is "playing" a chromatic harmonica and the other 
boys are dancing around.  The playing is expert.

Who was playing chromatic harmonica in the Hollywood film studios in the 
early 1940's?

Anyone know?
