Re: [Harp-L] Any fans of Canned Heat's "Blind Owl" Wilson?

I like his harmonica playing on "Christmas blues" on the CD "Uncanned".

My introduction to Alan was the raw, stripped down duo he does with John Lee
Hooker on "Hooker and Heat" on the song "Drifter" ...or is it "Driftin'?"
dunno, but it's very powerful stuff.

I've studied his harmonica playing for years and am especially interested
in
the retuning of his harmonicas. Often he would retune just one reed to
achieve a better "blues scale"; this can be heard on "On the Road Again"
among others.
