[Harp-L] Definition of a professional

Without going into the etymology of the word or a lesson in the evolution of
language, (in relation to the harmonica) professional can be broken down
into two basic meanings.
1. One who makes a certain percentage of their income* from playing the
harmonica would be a professional, regardless of skill level. Opinions are
irrelevant to this definition.
2. Skill level. Although this would be more properly phrased "He/she plays
at a professional level." This definition is fraught with opinion.

*This percentage will very between qualifying bodies; i.e. tax officials,
local business regulators, contest organizers, etc.

By some definitions, musicians do not qualify as professional, period. I do
not ascribe to this definition, but it does exist.
