[Harp-L] Re: My First Chromatic

I just want to thank everyone who replied, both on-list and off-list. I was
given many great suggestions and pointed to some huge resources which will
take me a long time to sort through. Unfortunately I haven't been playing
for the past week due to a head cold, but I am getting back to it this week,
and I'm really excited to work on some of the suggestions from Harp-L.

>>>"I've been playing diatonic harmonica for four years and am primarily
self-taught. This Christmas, I got my first chromatic harp, a Hohner Super
270 Chromonica. Now a few quick questions:

1. What's a good overall resource website for the chromatic?
2. Should I mod this harp right away? If so, what's the first thing to do?
3. If I mostly want to play like Stevie, what is the most important thing to
learn?
4. Is it normal for most of what I play on this thing to sound Arabian or
like an accordion?
5. Are the bends supposed to be so small and touchy, prone to squealing or
choking?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. I'm really excited about diving
into this new instrument! It's definitely a larger departure from diatonic
than I had expected..."
