Re: Re: [Harp-L] Short review - Edirol R-09 digital recorder

I have an M-Audio Microtrack 96/24, a very no-frills Compact Flash
card recorder. It doesn't have built-in mics like the Zoom, but
comes with a stereo omnidirectional mic. I haven't done a thorough
feature-by-feature comparison, but I've been happy with my
Microtrack, which is about the same street price as the Zoom.

I record our gigs set-by-set, then chop the recordings up in
Audacity for distribution to the band for review. The recordings of
the band on our MySpace site (http://www.myspace.com/itpband) were
made with my Microtrack.

Hey,

Greg, that sample sounds great - the playing, the tone. It works
over
the blues that Jamey or his cohorts are playing - something at which
I'm pleasantly surprised.

I have the Zoom H4 as well, and I am finding it a very useful tool.
Quite often, I make a CD of the gig the next day to distribute to the
band members for scrutiny. You really need to chop up the tracks in
an audio editor for this to make sense.
