[Harp-L] Jimi Lee harmonica workshop coming to Springfield, Mo.

In case you all had not heard, Jimi Lee (www.jimileeband.com) is coming up
to Springfield, Missouri, January 12th through 14th, to do a harmonica
seminar and show. Ostensibly, Jimi is a blues player, but he, to me, is
more jazzy than bluesy -- certainly more jazzy than your regular blues
player. (And he never just sticks with the 12 bar blues in his show, much
to the pleasure of those of us who get tired of the pattern.) Of our Austin
"blues" players, he is one of my favorites -- especially with his guitar and
harmonica rack. He has a lot to teach and a lot to share and is very
encouraging of player growth -- and many of his techniques that work in
blues can be used in bluegrass, folk, country, etc., too. If you can, make
certain that those folks in the area around this workshop know about it.

There are a couple of mp3 files available for listening on his website,
too. (www.jimileeband.com)

Don't let anyone who would really benefit from this seminar and show miss
it. It is a wonderful opportunity. If you have been to SPAH and
participated in the hallway jams, then you know how cool this fellow is and
what a great opportunity he can create for learning.
