Re: [Harp-L] Nickle v Chrome mouthpiece

Hello all,

some information on Hohner materials.

Hohner switched from nickel plated COVERS to chrome plated and, more
recently (some years now, before I got here), stainless steel. Some covers
are still plated, like the Toot's harmonicas, but most of them are SS.

Now back to mouthpieces.

Chromonica 10 hole (260) and 12 hole (270) have nickel plated MPs. Slide
harps and Koch chroms included.

Toot's chroms, Chromonica Deluxe and Meisterklasse have chrome plated MPs.

Chromonica 16 hole (280), Super 64, and Silver Concerto have silver plated
MPs.

Chromonica 12 Gold, Super 64 X and Amadeus have gold plated MPs.

So there is plenty room for anybody's choice. These different mouthpieces
are interchangeable and can be bought as spare parts.

Once every 3 or 4 months I get enquiries about nickel or chrome allergies.
It seems not to be a major issue. And, of course, we do have the CX-12
harmonica, which is mostly plastic.

All the best,
Fernando
