[Harp-L] Darn Lawyers

It's really terrible living in a world where you think your next words are going to get you sued. Maybe I should be worried. There have to be a bunch of household products that would be appropriate for sealing wood. Factoring in that it might not be a good idea to put any of these things in your mouth is a different matter. Use common sense. I just looked in the fridge and saw beeswax. People put beeswax in their mouth all the time. I haven't done it yet with a harp. Past experience working with wood tells me that it will work better when the wax is still in it's liquid state and you don't manage to warp your comb with the heat. The combs I've seen would allow liquid to penetrate the grain mostly where the wood touches the reedplate. This would be your "prime" target area for primer.

If I was intentionally trying to warp a comb I would put water or alcohol, or something that evaporates on part of the comb, but not the other part. Then I would let it dry unbound by the reedplates.

Toothpaste! People put toothpaste in their mouths all the time. Child proof glue! Not long lasting solutions, but they would last longer than soaking your harps in water.
