Re: [Harp-L] improving the harmonica (SBS harps)

Just chiming in also. Same problem - I don't have the SBS, bit the other 14
holer by Hohner. The one that starts as a low C for holes 1-10, and then
does something funky for holes 11-14. Really leaky, kinda sharp, very
unpleasant comb material...not much good for anything but chugging...though
it does sound nice for that...and the harp shows up better in promo shots,
as I have these really big, long hands....a diatonic kinda gets swallowed up
in them...and I don't play Chrom well enough to get my picture taken with
one in good conscience......

Rick,

I didn't like my SBS's either, mainly because they
seemd so leaky.

I had Bob Meehan customize mine (Low C and Low D),
and they play much better.

They are awkward though, and take some getting
use to... I don't play them that often.

I am very intrigued with the Seydel Soloist Pro-12
that
Rupert Oysler suggested. I'm definitely going to try
one!

Hopefully, Rupert will make it to the Columbus OH
Buckeye harmonica festival in April, and have a good
supply of harps to sell!
