Re: [Harp-L] Timbre, pitch, intonation

What Smokey said...
and a little more "said" from me.....
I have always loved music...I grew up in a family where music was not played, taught, or thought about much.... My parents loved to dance, but other people played music, not us.... I was 39 years old before I started learning and, unless you have a lot more talent than my brain and body possess, playing "great" music is not likely to happen... I have, however, learned to play "some" music... I have had the good fortune of generous musician friends who helped me understand some basic things. Buckeye, SPAH and Harp-L have made major contributions.... I have learned that anyone can play music, given enough persistence and resources....
Would I have taken advantage of early musical training.... ? Hah. Would a duck quack? I sometimes envy people with immense talent, because they can make me feel something with their music. Sometimes I can make myself feel something with music, but sometimes the feeling isn't so great... Once in awhile, it's a good feeling and I'm hooked all over again.

Now I'm a poor soul.Â

You can bet that those musicians would have if they could have.Â
Â
