Re: [Harp-L] effects advice (leslie, B3)

I really never use effects but I was screwing around with my bass players tuner
one day which has a ton of effects on it. Since then the guy's in the band always request "F5"
when we do "Riding with the King". The tuner is a Zoom bass tuner, it's a silver tuner/effects pedal
made for bass. F5 is the setting on the tuner that sounds like a
hard Leslie driven B3. Every time we do the tune at least 1 person ask's how the harp sounds
like a Hammond. Unlike a Little David or other Leslie simulator this thing adds the flange & rotation
as well as some other interesting stuff which makes it sound huge. Here's a link to one on ebay.
This one is a 506 (2), I think his is just the plain 506 but it looks the same and probably has the same effect.

Hi all,

back in the day... I had a flanger, and a phase shifter... and even
had access to an actual leslie cabinet that a friend of mine loaned
me... (along with his Farfisa)... but I was just a BABY then... and I
took it all for granted. Anyway, in those early days of using any
effect I could get my hands on, and harp plugged through... along the
way I went toward the other end of the spectrum, and just worked on
good harp tone instead... I have not used pedals since the stone ages.

Flash forward about 25 years, and I am stuck with a simple question
for you all concerning effects boxes. I am looking to emulate a
Hammond B3 hooked into a Leslie to use live, for one or two songs the
band plays.

I wonder if anyone knows a GOOD way to achieve this. I know about
Leslie simulation boxes, saw them at price ranges from 100-250 dollars
(US) and see the same range on flangers, chorus and all... but really,

*** I am hoping that somebody out there in harmonicaland has already
tried this out for live performance, and is or has used a setup that
captures the Hammond B3 into a Leslie cab sound. ***

... if so, please let me know.

Thanks.
