Subject: [Harp-L] still learning to overblow...

Hi -
I am still making the long journey into overblow-land...but I`m making some progress! I`ve reached the point now where I use the #5 and #6 overblows with confidence onstage, and sometimes even the #4 - I don`t know why, but on the lower keys (A, G) I have trouble with the #4 OB. I am getting better at gapping my harps , too. I still cannot seem to figure out the overdraws, and I`m nowhere near doing the #1 OB.
My question is this: even the good overblowing harps that I have, tend to have that little squealing sound if I hold the ob too long. I have heared that damping down the rivet end of the reed with beeswax or nailpolish helps this. Is it true about the nailpolish? - is it applied to the blow or to the draw reeds or both? is there a good site with a photographic demonstration on how to do this?
Thanks for any help
