It depends on the type of performance and the room acoustics. A loud blues or rock band will sound better from 50 feet away in a small club with better equipment, low ceilings, and a good mix in the sound board...assuming you can get 50 feet away. The Levy performance probably sounded good in the room...even from where the camera was placed.
