[Harp-L] Zoom H4 + Simple Recording Setup

I have an M-Audio Microtrack which I prefer to the Zoom since it is
smaller, can easily be operated with one hand, has a larger screen
and is simpler to use. However it is also $100 more than the Zoom. I
know several guys who are very happy with the Zoom - and that is the
best price I have seen for one.

As for Walter who asked about a simple recording - the Zoom (or
MicroTrack) qualifies for that as well. You can't beat it for
simplicity and portability. With up to 96kHz the results high
quality, more than adequate for your needs (around DVD quality or
better). The built-in mics to an adequate job for most things, and
you can use top-quality studio mics with it if you want better
quality.

Even simpler - if you don't need portability you can record right to
your computer. There are several interfaces that work on USB which
come with a mic, like this one - hard to beat at $99:

And mics that plug directly into USB ports, like this one, for $89:

For a little more money you can get a higher quality USB audio
interface to use with any mic you already own. They are somewhere
between $150-200 and up.
