Wow gang this is one smart looking unit .

I have a GNX4 Digitech DAW for guitar that has a 8 channels that records 2 channels at once and 4 at once when hooked to a computer ( it's got way more stuff than I could write in this short review ) . The Digitech GNX4's amp modeling and cabinet modeling is something quite profound for electric guitars and offers the same potential for the harmonica player who knows what sounds a certain way as in :

Microphone(s) , tube amp(s) & speaker cabinet(s) sounds like .

And what the state of the art is with FXs .

This Boss BR Micro is not as sofiticated as my Digitech GNX4 and reflects it in it's price and as my first words written implies ,

WOW this unit

- - The Boss BR Micro - -

offers a lot of bang for you buck for such a small piece of hardware .

For an entry level musician be it harmonica or what ever , it offers the power of " Time Stretching " something awesome for a non sight reading musician to be able to quickly figure out a song's construction , now that's something big when a CD player that can do that costs as much as this unit more or less and does'nt give you anywhere near what this thing does ....

If I didn't have what I own now in my Digitech GNX4

I would probably jump on this little killer in a heart beat !

For a harmonica player it would be a fantastic tool to learn from and improve one's playing skills as well as be a " live " gigging piece of hardware for a solo performance .

I paid $500.00 ( no tax and shipping was free ) for my GNX4 , this Boss BR Micro is almost about half as much a unit compared to my DAW , but then again I'm branching out and developing guitar now to my musical performing and this unit isn't enough for my needs .

- - But - -

If I didn't play guitar it would be more than enough for my needs pryor to my guitar developement nowadays :)

For a knock around " sketch " pad I would get it when I want to travel " light " though - -

- - - Wow - - -

This little unit is BAD !

But as a word of caution ........

I researched my unit ( GNX4 ) as soon as it came out , the first of it's series { GNX3 ) seemed perfect at first , till I sat back quietly waiting and read how people were rating it after it hit the streets - - - for 2 + years I waited !

Bad feed back is a good thing when 10000's of people have the same complaints --

- - So - -

Digitech made the GNX4 with the much needed improvements that were essential for it to be a sucessfull product after 2 years of working the " Bugs " out ---

- - So - -

Wait a few months ( if you can :) and see what kind of feed back starts to fly :)

Then . . . .

If it holds up and need no improvements . . .

Or ....

If improvements are made and feed back is good ......

GET ONE ! ! ! .....I just might :)

Heads up call Wally Waters !

Sincerely :

Hurricane Ramon
