Music for the worldly mind
with Howard Levy, Glen Velez and Eugene Friesen
"Magnificent players with distinct musical voices. Together they have a fresh new sound and offer a unique vision of the world of music." - Dave Brubeck

Trio Globo was formed in 1993 by cellist Eugene Friesen, pianist and master harmonica player Howard Levy and percussionist Glen Velez. According to Jazz Now Magazine they create "...fusion music in the best sense-an organic mixture of jazz, classical and world music." Eugene Friesen, known as "Cello Man," performs with the Paul Winter Consort, with whom he won two Grammys. Howard Levy, known for revolutionizing harmonica technique by developing a fully chromatic style on the standard 10-hole diatonic harmonica, performs with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones and Paquito D'Rivera. Grammy-winning percussionist Glen Velez is an international soloist who brought a new genre of drumming to the western music world 20 years ago by creating his own compositional style inspired by many different cultures. In addition to performing with Trio Globo he tours with the Paul Winter Consort.

This performance made possible by support from the New York State Music Fund, established by the New York State Attorney General at Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisers.
