Re: [Harp-L] re: watch it and weep

I would like to clarify my comments.
The young man showed he has much talent and ability.....but GOOD music touches the soul....heart....emotions....whether it is fast or slow. Playing fast is fascinating because of deterity , rhythm, and the challenge. But, I also heard from the young man the connection to meeting the challenge, and tramitting the enjoyment of using his ability by way of music.
I would venture to say, he could do the same with a slow piece.
If you are able to involve your audience so they receive that short interlude of enjoyment and emotion that delights or soothes the soul......then it is GOOD music.
It does not always have to be fast for that to happen.
Play from the heart and it will be received in the same manner.
  My thoughts.......

than."

I believe mastery is an illusion. It is technique that is the reality.
