Kenny Warner was on the keys, and was the musical director as well.  He
did fabulous duos with Toots on "Ne Me Quitte Pas" and on the encore,
"What a Wonderful World."  It's real genius to provide solo support to
Toots' music.

BTW, Herbie Hancock and Eliane Elias shared a bench at the Steinway on
the finale ("Bluesette"), and they got VERY cozy.  I thought I was in a
blues joint...

By the way, Sonny Terry brought "us" to Carnegie Hall in 1938/1939 (!)
as part of John Hammond's "From Spirituals to Swing" concerts.  He
performs a solo of "John Henry" as only Sonny Terry can.
