Makes
me ill that I've been playing harp more than
twice as long as he's even been ~alive~ and I can't
touch his speed. Oh well. Just think what could do
on harp in about 10 years.

You need to change your technique. That speed stuff is basically "whistling-through-the harp". You'll never get it unless you're a pucker player. It's what Popper and Harper do. That sort of speed is acheivable - it's definitely not impossible or a mystery. I did a support for Harper once and his didgeredoo player tipped it to me. It was kind of funny because he treated it like it was an industry secret - and I had nil interest in learning it. Personally it's not the kind of playing I'd even listen to, just as much I'd rather listen to Jnr Watson on guitar than a speed metal guy like Yngwie Malmsteen. It doesn't say anything to me about the song or whatever. But who cares? It's all good if it gets younger folks interested in playing.

I think the kid is excellent and great for generating interest in harp.
