Re: [Harp-L] minor keys

"I'm going to be playing a couple of songs in A minor, which i've never done before. Better to get a lee oscar or a spec 20 in D minor and just play 2nd pos?"

Michael, alternate tunings are good, but playing in 3rd positon is a real good time too. if it's only a couple of songs, the G harp lends itself well to 3rd pos (Am) ... I'd lean towards that. it's really not that difficult, know that your notes of resolution will be at 1/4/8 draw. beyond that, when in minor, emphasize the 5 draw and de-empasize the 7 draw (vice versa when major in 3rd,)... the rest is gravy, albeit potentially lumpy in spots.

Jim.

Hey list. i need some educated opinions. I'm going to be playing a couple of songs in A minor, which i've never done before. Better to get a lee oscar or a spec 20 in D minor and just play 2nd pos? Sounds dumb i know but it's a new thang for me. Thanks
