[Harp-L] JJ Milteau Interview

I was doing my usual "New Years Day" cleaning and reorganizing act today. As
I sorted through some paperwork I came upon an interview with JJ by Ben
Felten that I had printed off the web a while back. It struck me so much the
first time I read it online that I printed it off. It ended up in my "pile"
never to be read again until today. Here is the link below. I still haven't
bought one of his CD's but that will be taken care of shortly. JJ's approach
to the harp is very similar to what mine has been. I have never been very
technical or good at dissecting the instrument.I just fell in love with it
from day one.just like when I first heard the blues. Now I know that JJ has
taken his approach to very high levels.well beyond mine.....but in this
interview he makes me feel ok about who I am and where I have gone with the
harp. I have the utmost respect for the Riccis, Michaleks, Levys, Icemen,
Peloquins, Filiskos, Gruenlings, Poppers, Buffalos, Wonders, Thielmans, Del
Juncos etc...but they have always made me feel like I am on the outside
looking in...this guy really made me feel a little bit on the inside for
once. I look to 2006 as a big year for me to be more diligent and productive
in my harp playing.but I can't be more pleased that I started it off reading
this piece. We are who we are.not everybody gets to their personal
finish-line the same way.
