[Harp-L] Re: Mojo Red

Someone like Mojo Red's playing, who I never heard of. I did a Rockin Red
from the Syracuse blues station that played with a lot of tasty feel, something
I don't much of in the blues area lately. Are these the same guys. One of
problems in playing Sonny Terry's style is most people, even harp players, under
45 probably never saw him perform, and the newer guys on harp are in a
different direction mostly. So playing something truly traditional doesn't have
the same effect when they have no reference to where it came from. I need to
find Quincy Jones, who loved Sonny, took him 3 months to find where Sonny lived
to do Color Purple, but Sonny was treated like the king he was by Mr. Jones.
- I am not even sure if Emma is still alive, Sonny's wife, last time I
talked to her was a few years ago, and her name is not in the book anymore.
