[Harp-L] Re: A couple of questions

Have any of yall had any problems with Hohners Pro Harps? I bought one in F
to replace a Special 20 hoping it would play better. It kinda looked the same
and it played OK but I was rippin' some lead and bending the poopy out of
the 4 draw note and it broke off and it me right in the back of my throat. I
called Hohner and was treated like I was trying to con them or something. This
was back in 96 I think it was. I was pretty pissed at the way I was treated
and tried to switch brands but I always end up going back to Special 20's in
the end. I know things have really improved on buying harps that don't need
tweeking but I'm so set in my ways it's hard for me to buy any of the harps
that advertise easier bending for blow notes and especially in the upper
register. But that's exactly what I want. I play on a budget and I try and save
money all that I can but if I knew one of these outta the box tweeked harps
really worked I'd buy one at a time till I had a whole set. Who can help me out
with some advice? I sure would like to hit that bend on the 10 hole blowing in
Whammer Jammer. I haven't tried to do that since like 75 but I'd love to copy
it. I aint gonna do it and leave out that one bend. I did most of wammer
jammer on a Hank Jr song back in the 80's when I was doin' country but I left
that real high bend out. Last question. What do yall do when you overblow? I'm
pretty sure I do it but I want to know for sure.
