i often find my eyes closed when i'm soloing.  not a conscious thing, it just happens.
once i notice it, i need to stop, so i can watch the other players.  hard to communicate 
with your eyes closed.

this is not a problem when i'm listening, though.  and i find it much easier to follow
a complex passage or solo with my eyes closed.  we're intensely visual-focused
creatures, and visual stimuli are really distracting.
