the iceman is probably right...
you might,, however,, want to check where you're getting those Special 20's from.
if you're getting them from the local music shop, they could be years old have sat somewhere
damp or something.
ordering online from harphouse would be your best bet...
i've been playing for a long time, and i used to blow as hard as i could,
especially on those deep draws... i always swore by the Special 20's for thier
durability if nothing else.. i'm now switching to
Golden Melodies as i get more involved with overblows,, but my
heart belongs to those little 20's.

If you find that it seems to be the same reed blowing out (perhaps 4 or 5 hole inhale), it would indicate that it is your technique and not the harmonica.
