Re: Subject: [Harp-L] Sorry Vern /jason ricci

Hey Elizabeth,

I'm going to quote you out of context to show how
dang ~easily~ things can be taken the wrong way
around here, in our beloved Online cyber forum.
Ready? Here we go...

You wrote:
<<snip>>

Hrrrmph!!! Exactly ~what~ do you ~mean~, young
lady, when you say "The chromatic isn't going
anywyhere"???
Haven't you heard Randy Singer play a chromatic?
Robert Bonfiglio? Chris Bauer? I'd say it's going
places you've never even ~imagined~... blah, blah,
blah, with the rest of the flame...

Can't you just ~see~ my offended expression, my
arched eyebrow, my foot tapping impatiently as I
await your no-doubt ~groundless~ defense...

Yup... words without body language, facial
expression and voiced inflection can very easily be
misconstrued in our fledgling onlilne society.

I knew Vern's post was tongue-in-cheek, you knew
that Jason's response was in teasing... but the
words by ~themselves~... well... they're simply
words. And like many written words, can be taken
every whicha-way.

Jason's public appology was honorable and well
done. I've made such appologies on more than
several occasions myself... it's waay too easy to
step in it around here. :-)

So, be careful out there! And remember (me too!)
sometimes we just gotta cut each other some slack.

Harpin' in Colorado,
--Ken
