RE: [Harp-L] Black Band from the 1950's?

Yeah, I remember that night. It was Little Walter, the Myers boys, Fred
Below....

Just kidding, sorry to get your hopes up. If it was someplace like Theresa's
in Chicago you'd have a shot - their lineup was pretty set on certain nights
during certain periods of time. I'd try the town historians there, they
might know what bands were frequenting the club(s) there. Driving Miss Daisy
was filmed there. I found that out just by a quick google search, try it you
never know.

Can you send us the pictures or post them somewhere? That would help
immensely and I'd love to see them (as I'm sure many would).

Subject: [Harp-L] Black Band from the 1950's?

In 1956 I had the good fortune of photographing a Black band playing at an
all Black Night Club in Griffin Georgia.
As I remember it there were four to six musicians playing. ( A Blues band
ofcourse. )
Being a white child from the south I had never had that experience before.
( I was 19 at the time.)
I grew up in a photography Studio, so doing the work wasn't new to me, but
the music was.

I fell in love with blues that night, and I've always wondered who was
playing. They were GREAT!!!!!
I stayed untill they quit. I was hooked on the Harp from that day forward.
This list promped me to ask if anyone had a CLUE who it could have been?

I am hoping it's not a silly question and a waste of your time. Best
regards.... Don
