And now for the rest of the story. 
I see Sam on a near daily basis, and along with Anson, Joe Jonas,
and Joanna IZ and the SWBHF help Sam with his needs.

1. Sam's voice has not come back at all, he speaks in a near whisper,
very raspy.
2. Because of this fact, he was reexamined and had another throat scan,
and it was found that the cancer has come back in another place where it was 
not previously.
3. Sam has had a new MRI, and has had a few different exams and consultations
with a few doctors. He may be going to Philadelphia for some advanced 
treatment
but that is up in the air as we speak. All avenues are being explored with 
the idea of
saving Sam's voice in mind.
4, Although Sam's voice has not returned yet, he still will blow harp 
occasionally,
and he sounds fine when he does.
5. He did appear with Anson at the king biscuit fest(just sitting in), and he 
also played and sang at a fest here in dallas for Katrina victims in October.
6. The Southwest Blues Heritage foundation is a 501(c)3 organization.
there is a separate account set up for Sammy, all monies contributed go 
directly to helping pay Sam's bills. I am on the board ofdirectors for this 
nonprofit organization. 

In closing, please keep Sammy in your prayers, his spirits are high, and he 
still comes out on a nightly basis to be around and hear the blues. Thanks to 
everyone for their concerns(especially danny who posted this originally).
