[Harp-L] Re: Tablature Fonts

Wayne Stennett writes:

"I scoured the net thoroughly trying to find a good harmonica tablature
font, and had no luck."

You evidently didn't find my harmonica tablature font at:

http://www.angelfire.com/music2/harmonicainfo/products/purchase.htm#buyfont

You can read the complete manual for Fletch Diatonic, a TrueType font
for writing diatonic harmonica tab.

I see that in your keyboard layout you've arranged your basic symbols
in a way that is identical to Fletch Diatonic and your bent notes in a
similar manner - great minds must think alike.

Fletch Diatonic is not free - it costs $10, but has a rich character
set that works for diatonic harmonicas of up to 12 holes.

Fletch includes symbols for both bends and overblows. As it includes an
extended character set of bends and overbends (both blow and draw) of
up to three semitones on all holes, it can accommodate most altered
tunings and will notate the extra bends available on valved harps, the
XB-40, Discrete Comb, Suzuki Overdrive, etc.

Fletch also includes symbols for ornamental actions like tongue slaps,
warbles, rakes, and tongue lifts, as well as tongue block symbols to
notate split tongue-blocked intervals like octaves.

Wayne has come up with a good basic - and free - tab font. But if
you're ready for more, check out Fletch.
