i can sort of see your point with the "connecting with the audience",,
but does that mean if you are playing a song with a band and people
appear bored and leave you should stop???
well usually that's a pretty clear sign they have had enough of you for one
night; sometimes that means forever. Last impressions are very important,
IMO a show should always end on a high note.

..i know that was a bit much, but point being,,.......... it's art.
Yeah, but is it good art? you can't experiment with your audience and you
must never bore them; you gotta deliver the goods otherwise the word gets
out you're boring and that can stick.
