[Harp-L] Acoustic questions

Hello to everyone!

I just would like to know a few things about acoustic theory related to the
harmonica, can you please help me?

I've been developing a little freeware about harmonica tabs (
www.grotch.tk<http://www.grotch.tk>), and I just added a little
feature that enables the viewer to listen to
tabs (so far, without rhythm info). To play a tab, the flash applet just
reads .mp3 corresponding to the note that must be played. So far so good.

The trouble is that I recorded those .mp3 with a 2$ desktop microphone.
Furthermore I'm not that skilled in Harmo, so both my technique and tone
might be highly improved. This leads to the fact that the played melody is
far from being convincing.

-Does it already exist a set of good quality sound files with chromatic
scales played by diatonic harmos?

-Is that possible to get such a scale from ONE sound file? (I think it must
be possible just by playing with the length of the sound record)
-Is that possible to change the pitch without changing the sound length?
-With which software?
-With a good quality?
-Do I need more than one original sound file to get a good quality for a
complete chrom' scale?

-If it's indeed possible to get a complete scale from one sound file and if
you are an advanced player (with good tone/technique/amp) may you please be
kind enough to send me a .wav containing a single note played for a few
secs?

Thanks a lot for your attention,

Eric
