Re: [Harp-L] band in key of f

Hi,

Here's an e-mail version of the Circle of Fifths:

              C
           F G
         Bb D
        Eb A
         Ab E
           Db B
              F#

Remember. The Circle of Fifths is your friend. For
finding harps to play in 3rd position when the band
is in the key of...
If the band is in C, you pick up a Bb harp.
If the band is in G, you pick up an F harp.
If the band is in D, you pick up a C harp.
If the band is in A, you pick up a G harp.
If the banbd is in E, yo upick up a D harp.

Look at the chart. Are you starting to see a
pattern?
The circle can be used to find the correct harp for
any position you need when the band is in...

You can also use it to find what keys are available
in any particular harp for any particular position,
buy you count going the other way.

For example. You have a C harp. First position=C,
second position=G, third position=D, 4th
position=A.

Make sense? The Circle of Fifths is your friend.
:-)

Hope this helps,
--Ken M.
