[Harp-L] electric technique

I don't play much different amplified or acoustic. For electric harp you don't
need to worry about hand techniques too much. You should have a good vibrato.
You need to figure out how to have a loud raunchy sound at tolerable volumes.
You may want the option of playing clean or distorted so you need a set where
the sound is clean and if you play a little harder you get some break up. You
need to figure out how to hear yourself, how to set your volume relative to the
band, and learn not to feed back. You might want to practice with a mic once in
a while just to practice getting a tight seal and to practice keeping the mic
about a finger's width from the mic. There's a way to loosen your mouth and get
a good distorted sound, even acoustically. It's hard to explain (Cotton is a
master of this). Just fiddle with it and you'll find it. Combine that with a
Green Bullet or other hot mic and you won't have trouble getting distortion on
stage even with a loud clean Fender type amp.
