It's Epping's next thing, and seems to be a real beauty. They are announcing
it formally in April, in Germany, and will have them available here in July.

Hi, Brad.

Firs of all, a quick introduction. I will address the Marine Band Deluxe
(MBDLX) later on.

For those who don´t know me, my name is Fernando Bresslau, and I am a
Brazilian harmonica player, mostly Diats. I've taken part in this forum some
time ago, then I lurked for a long period, and now I'm back again. I am also
the moderator of Gaita-L, the Brazilian harmonica list.

What most of you don't know is that I am working in Trossingen, Germany,in
Hohner's Harmonica Product Management Team since the 15th of Nov.

I just wanted to let you all know that I have always learned a lot from the
several online communities and that I have made good friends over the years.
This won't change. I will continue to gather your impressions, suggestions,
likes, dislikes, etc.

If you need to contact Hohner about any harmonica subject, feel free to
e-mail me at bresslau@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx It will be a pleasure if I can be of
any help.

Back to the MBDLX, I will shed some light on it.

Yes, there will be this new harmonica model.

Yes, it will be officially introduced to the European market during the
Frankfurt Musikmesse, from 6th to 9th of April.

The MBDLX was developed from the original Marine Band Classic, with major
participation of Steve Baker, our consultant in several matters.

The body has been improved: rounded edges all around and has received a
special treatment against humidity.

The plates are screwed to the body with 3 screws and 4 pairs of screws/nuts
hold the covers, making it 7 pressure points for a perfect seal.

The covers have been opened up for more sound and stability.

I am sure that you will be as delighted with it as I am. Rick Epping got the
first samples of these harmonicas during the NAMM Show, this is also right.
But, since we are still finishing the last touches, he probably preferred
not to show the harmonica around. So I am not surprised that Madcat hasn't
seen them.

This is a premium harmonica which will set the standards of series
manufactured harmonicas quite higher. But it is not intended to be a custom
instrument. Customization has to do with personal settings and a level of
detailed work which cannot be achieved in a series assembly line at
reasonable cost.

About cost and availability date in the USA, this has not been decided yet.
If you need hard info on that, please contact Hohner USA, they will for sure
be able to help you.

Well, I think that was it. If you have any doubts, please use the e-mail
address above.

Best regards,

Fernando Bresslau
