Stormy Weather, 1943 movie starring Lena Horne, Bill Robinson, Fats Waller, Dooley Wilson, etc etc.
Opens w/"old" Bill Robinson telling stories to kids on front porch, with awesome DeFord style harmonica playing and Bill tapping. Don't know who the performer for the film score was, though.
Movie is a silly plot done Negro Musical style, but the performers do so well that the film offers some TERRIFIC musical numbers.
