[Harp-L] Re: Aura: a harmonica or a Jaw harp?

  Hi Fernando!

Yes clearly the Aura on the picture is a collection of jaw harps,
but jaw harps and harmonicas are really not so close.
It's hard to believe that the prototype of harmonicas is this...
thing!
I find the reply by Bobbie Giordano helpful, maybe there
are two Auras, different instruments by two inventors.

By the way, according to the Hornbostel-Sachs system,
Jaw harp and harmonica are very different instruments.
The Jaw harp is a "Plucked idiophone", and the harmonica
is a "Free aerophone". Some information can be found from:

  All the best,
  Nidalap :D~
