[Harp-L] fun with rhythm

There was an earlier thread about using drumming drills to work on rhythm. It's
also fun to play around with the backbeat (the 2nd and 4th beat--the loud
whacking snare beats).

I spent some time jamming the other day, trying not to play ever on the
backbeat. Play a triplet, stop for the back beat, play straight 8ths, pause for
the back beat, try holding a note until just before the back beat, give a little
pause before it. Fun. Also fun to play during the backbeat but do something
different on the back beat. Like a triplet, then a long held note on the beat.

This is fun when the guitarist is playing on the backbeats, and the harp is
playing on the down beats. You can get a nice syncopated beat, get a nice back
and forth conversation. Also lets you hold back, not play a lot of notes but
still sound good.
