Re: [Harp-L] Setting up harps for overblows

Hi Jim,
You may want to try opening up the gap of your blow reed a little, and
reduce the gapping of your draw reed just a tad. Experiment with the
settings a bit. It can be surprising how a little adjustment can affect
the reed response.
There have been discussions on harp-l about setting up the arc of reeds
so that from the root to 2/3rds along the reed runs just above the edge of
the reed plate slot, and the last 1/3rd has a gentle curve up to the tip.
Draw and blow reeds alike.
This helps reduce leakage and will take a bit more gas to choke.
Cheers,
-- G.

I had to adjust the gap smaller.
Once adjusted I could get the OB but it keeps sticking on the 6 blow. I keep
tweaking on the gap to get a balance between being able to OB and having
the 6
blow play normally. Any suggestions?
