Re: [Harp-L] looking for a good acoustic mic

If you want a good "acoustic" mic for using "on the road"... I truly don't
think that you can do better than the Shure SM 58... Particularly the version
with an "on/off"switch... After years and years they are STILL the "industry
standard "... They are relatively cheep and VERY robust... IMHO one of the best
mics EVER... Also, if you "cup" them you can even get a "Chicago" distorted
sound too (BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO)... Do not go for a condenser mic for "on the
road" use... They are too fragile & DON'T go for ANY mic that need "batteries
"... They ALWAYS let you down in the middle of a performance... But the best
thing to do is try several different mics until you find one that suits YOU, and
that suits your PA. too!
Best wishes
