Hurricane sez :

>From south in San Diego to San Francisco you will find all kinds of places that have live music and some feature Blues acts . Long Beach has more than most other cities when it comes to Blues Clubs . Los Angeles too . There's a ( beside this one I mention ) bi monthly blues rag that is helpful to check out what's out there to work called " Southland Blues ". And even across the border in Tijuana Mexico , south of San Diego there's several Blues Clubs beside the other wild stuff there .

True though Blues Clubs come and go constantly here as well as any other place . The music business is tough to crack no matter what the genre , but if your good ( I mean really good ) then you have a chance to live like you want . Maybe you get lucky and get a recording that sells and your off and running -- It could happen .

The West coast's cities like San Diego have millions of residents and the cities between it and Los Angeles are huge too . I think a musician in these times who has worked his chops to the degree of selling his music simi sucessfully has a good chance here on the west coast . But , as it has beed said " Many Are Called But , Few Are Choosen " , so realize if this is your bag to be a professional musician , you had better be really good if not great and - - you had better have a tuff hide too .

Sure Los Angeles is gnarly but , so what ( how bout Chicago or New York I have been there in all three ) , if you are serious then it's just another thing to handle and get over on . No one in their right mind thinks it is the easy way , it's like the old saying :

Takes a life time to be an over night success .

Sincerely :

H . R .
