I'm not trying to stir the pot on this one...others know that I've
had this same discussion off-list... 

Frankly I don't understand why people hold Butterfield in such high
esteem. Maybe somebody can explain to me why everyone thinks he's so
great. I think his tone is thin and ragged and he's fairly
unimaginative as a musician.  Personally I can't stand his playing.
