[Harp-L] Doug Randall

When I first noticed Doug, either at Buckeye or SPAH - not sure, I thought he
appeared maybe a little "dangerous". Really... just shows how wrong first
impressions can be. Nothing could be further from the truth! What a lovely
fellow... a genuine sweetheart of a guy, with a quiet unassuming way that
belied his musical skills which he never once flaunted.

Eventually, he came to be one of those I looked forward to seeing at the
conventions, in large part to see what his latest level of play on the
harmonica had gotten to. We rarely heard him except at the late night jams,
but each year he seemed to have gained leaps in talent from the previous year
that I always found amazing.

>From now on, I will sorely miss that anticipation. I feel very sad for his
friends who came to know him better than I, as I'm sure the loss has hit them
quite hard.

For those interested, I found this website with mention of his band's CD.
Scroll down about two thirds of the way on the page.

My condolences to Doug's friends and family... yes, a very sad day indeed.
