Re: [Harp-L] Clubs in Dallas

Yeah, when I read nice clubs in good neighborhoods, that pretty much ruled out every one on my list. But the Granada is a great showcase for local and touring acts. The Hole in the Wall has great music, greasy hamburgers, and is in one of the worst areas of Dallas. J&J's in Ft. Worth is a great place as well - I saw Rod Piazza there a couple of years ago. Also a dive, and not in the greatest of neighborhoods. Not many Blues fans on the P & Z boards I guess.

Good luck,

hey Doc!

Tell Dianne (?) there's one venue in Dallas I really love, however it ain't just "a very nice club", it's unlikely to have swing dancin' and it might not even have blues, but I saw John Hammond Jr. there years ago, at Uncle Calvin's Coffee house, it's a church coffee house - in a nice neighborhood near downtown - http://www.unclecalvins.org/main.html

Great teas and muffins, good folks and fine music!

Hi,

A dear friend of mine who helps me run the Blues Cruise Sail Away Party will
be consulting for IBM in a few weeks in Dallas. She is a blues loving swing
dancer who needs the names of some very nice clubs in good neighborhoods.
Thanks for the help.
