One of my favorite slow blues 3rd position songs is Mark Hummel on his Heart 
of Chicago CD. The song is - Out on a Limb. 

Just the first few notes of his solo are so deep and full of greasy, meaty 
badass goodness. The cat can just flat out play! His 3rd position stuff on the 
short harp is outstanding and a great place for learning (stealing) phrasing 
ideas.

The Kim Wilson - Smoking Joint Cd is also chock full -O- goodness for some 
great uptempo 3rd position stuff.
