Yeah, Jervis. I've been toying around with the idea of using harmonica
in a hip-hop context for probably 7 or 8 yrs now. Occassionally I'll
catch the right mood and be able to play something that sounds like
hip-hop rhymes. Here's the question, though. Would you use it like the
MC or the DJ? Ostensibly you could use it for both, I guess. Tom
Morello, formerly of Rage Against the Machine, often used his guitar as
a turntablist. I found that fascinating as much as I find ?uestlove (of
The Roots) vocal stylings fascinating. But I find on harp, I tend to try
and sound more like the MC. Just something to think about. Good luck and
let us know what you come up with!
