I assume "cp" means PC ?

Windows comes with a very basic "Sound Recorder", but its very limited in
that it'll only record for a minute or so depending on the quality. 

If your computer has a Sound Blaster Live! sound card, then you can use the
recording software thats bundled with SB Live!.

Have you done a search for shareware/freeware sound recorders?

For myself I use an old version of CalkWalk - but its overkill for simple
practice recordings.
