Jazz Harp by Richard Hunter

Just received Richard Hunter's book from Coast to Coast Music. Really happy I purchased it. A couple weeks ago I asked my list colleagues for advice on listening and understanding bebop and hard bop. This book outlines the transitions and techniques necessary on diatonic and chromatic to approach jazz. I know I will have my work cut out for me but it will be worth it. It is exciting to approach new things that I have been wondering about for a long time.

I wonder if Richard Hunter has some addendum or recent ideas to this book since the introduction of the Hohner XB. I am bringing this up in reference to his points on Coltraine's Sax lines that required legato attacks that could not be replicated on harmonica due to having to make more frequent inhales and exhales compared to a sax where changes are done with the fingers.

Another question I had was the use of the Nat. Minor tuned harmonicas by LO and Hohner MB in the playing of this style of music with or without further alteration in there inherent tunings.

Hope this reaches you Richard or some of the other experts out there. Please try to keep your answers geared to my simplistic knowledge.

Thanks so much.
