Re: Silvertone 1432 replacement speaker

I put an ohmmeter across the speaker terminals of the junky but =
functional Peavey speaker (after I removed it) that came in my 1432. it =
tested out at 5.6ohms. I put in a Rola that tested at 5.3 and it works =
fine, so I reckon an 8ohm speaker is what you are looking for. as far =
as wattage goes, I would guess a 25watt unit would fit the bill. I =
suspect that the 1432 puts out a whopping 12 watts or so.

as far as I have been able to determine, the 1432s came with Rolas or =
Jensens as standard equipment, as I guess Danelectro just tossed in =
whatever was cheap and available at the time of manufacture. I tried a =
Jensen C12S at one point and it sounded fine as well...it tested out at =
about 6ohm, by the way...

good luck with your 1432. they are great little amps for the house, or =
mic'ed for gigging.

and if you ever run across a spare back panel, keep me in mind. mine =
makes do with a piece of plywood (for shame!)

       I just got a 1432 and it needs a new speaker. I'll probably get a =
Jensen ceramic but does anyone know what wattage and ohms I need?
       Thanks
