Re: Big Walter's Customized Harp

Allen,

I'm not sure to whom you thought you might appear to be rude, but for the
record. I, personally am not fussy about harmonica mics, nor do I own any
fancy tweeked harps. I don't claim to know what accounted for Walters tone,
but for sure a large component was his talant and technique. He had the
chops. On the other hand, I also play the big red MB in G because I like
it's "quality", and I feel that personally, the tone I can get with this
thing is the closest to what I percieve as the Walter tone. Furthermore,
I've noticed that there are certain rude people who think that by prefacing
thair rudeness by saying that they don't mean to be rude, they can say
things like "modern would-be harp player". If you now feel like saying that
I am one of the "people who express themselves in this forum", then good.
Lets have it out, and if you happen to be in the New Orleans LA area, this
may have to come to blows. Stock MB harps fresh out of the box at ten
paces. Amplified or not, your choice of key.

Howard Chandler
